The diplomatic relations between Turkey and Finland were established in 1924. The Turkish Embassy in Stockholm was accredited to Finland until the year 1961. The Embassy of Turkey in Finland was inuagurated in 1961 and the current premises was acquired by the Embassy in 1992.
The Embassy is located in Eira, an idyllic and historical district very close to the famous Kaivopuisto Park and the sea, and just 10 minutes walking distance to the city centre. The Turkish Embassy has been serving at its current chancery in Helsinki since 1992, with 20 personnel.
The Consular Section is located at the first floor of the same building. The Office of the Military Attaché is at the Chancery, whearas the Office of the Culture and Promotion Counsellor and the Office of the Trade Counsellor serve at other premises.
Due to wavy relations between the EU and the Turkish Government, each phone calls are recorded and from time to time they are served from Ankara as opposed to the Finnish branch which creates dilemma in responding to questions from time to time. We advise you to visit the Embassy in person to get the most stable answer.
